Studio Policy

MY RESPONSIBILITIES

I will teach my piano students the language of music in a positive and enthusiastic environment. It is my goal to empower each student to influence their music education with input based on their interest and long-term goals. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student’s specific learning needs.

STUDENT & FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES

Students agree to be ready for each lesson on time, be well prepared, and with their assignment books, music, and keyboard/piano. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. Please ask questions about home assignments so that the student and parents can completely understand the assignments and goals.

All students are encouraged to play at the studio recitals and take auditions for local ensembles and competitions. If an opportunity arises, please bring information to the next lesson so that I can help your student prepare.

Students must have their own instrument to practice at home. If you do not already own a keyboard or piano, I have created a page which can guide you to selecting the right instrument for you. To access this page, click here. For a list of my recommended keyboard’s and digital piano’s, click here.

If you have questions or would like input on the purchase of an instrument, please let me know. I am happy to set appointments to meet the student and their family for instrument trials and make specific recommendations.

Fall Term – September through December

Spring Term – January through May

Summer Term – June through August

Please note that a student’s spot will not be guaranteed for the fall term if they were not enrolled in lessons during the summer term.

By enrolling and paying tuition for my child in Daniel Lavin’s Piano Studio, I certify that I understand and agree to the studio policies for the 2023/2024 school year.
